Heifer International

Holy Apostles Soup Kitchen

Holy Apostles Soup Kitchen has been a symbol of hope and compassion in the Chelsea section of Manhattan since 1982. Housed in the landmark Church of the Holy Apostles, the Soup Kitchen serves over 1,000 hot nutritious meals on average each and every weekday, including holidays. Anyone who comes to our door is welcome – without question or qualification

Heifer International's mission is to work with communities to end hunger and poverty and care for the earth. By giving families a hand-up, not just a hand-out, we empower them to turn lives of hunger and poverty into self-reliance and hope.

With gifts of livestock and training, Heifer projects help families improve their nutrition and generate income in sustainable ways. We refer to our animal donations as "living loans" because in exchange for their livestock and training, families agree to give one of its animal's offspring to another family in need. It's called Passing on the Gift – a cornerstone of our mission that creates an ever-expanding network of hope and peace.

Sunday School

Sunday school classes will meet July & August during the 9:30 service.
Most of the classes will be staffed by myself, and Miss Maggie Aftanis.
We are posting a sign up sheet on the hallway bulletin board for volunteers to take a couple of Sundays.
We hope you’ll consider sharing your love of Christ with our next generation of Christian soldiers.
On a personal note: There is a rumor circulating that I am moving to Florida. One day, my beloved & I will probably make that move as it is better for our health, however it is not in our immediate plans. We will be exiting New Jersey VERY early this year as we are fortunate to have a family who needs a place to rent while they renovate.
It’s good to be back with my Holy Innocents family. I am grateful for the live streaming of our services done by Kim Sparks, allowing me to feel part of our Sunday worship while I’m away. Thanks Kim!
